About the Company
Our client is an industry-leading geotechnical and geoenvironmental contractor specialising in the design and construction of ground improvement, containment and environmental remediation solutions. They support a diverse range of environmental, industrial, infrastructure and redevelopment projects across North America, helping clients address contaminated sites, waste containment challenges and complex subsurface conditions.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Travelling Superintendent to oversee field operations on environmental ground improvement and remediation projects throughout the United States.
Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day field operations on environmental remediation and ground improvement projects nationwide.
- Manage site personnel, subcontractors, vendors and equipment to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
- Oversee installation activities involving soil mixing, grouting, containment systems, slurry wall construction, permeable reactive barriers and other geoenvironmental technologies.
- Coordinate mobilisation, logistics and work planning across multiple project locations.
- Ensure work is completed in accordance with project specifications, environmental regulations and quality requirements.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections and compliance audits.
- Work closely with Project Managers, engineers and clients to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.
- Monitor productivity, equipment utilisation and project performance.
- Complete daily reporting, documentation and construction records.
- Mentor foremen, operators and field personnel while promoting a strong safety culture.
Requirements
- 10+ years of construction experience with significant field leadership experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent or equivalent.
- Strong background in environmental construction, geoenvironmental contracting, ground improvement or specialty geotechnical construction.
- Experience managing projects involving soil mixing, deep soil mixing, jet grouting, permeation grouting, slurry walls, cut-off walls, containment systems, environmental remediation or groundwater protection systems.
- Proven ability to lead crews and heavy construction operations on technically complex sites.
- Experience working within highly regulated environmental, industrial or contaminated site environments.
- Strong understanding of site safety, environmental compliance and quality control procedures.
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications and geotechnical or environmental reports.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the United States and work on project sites for extended durations.
