The Role

As a Lead Building Automation Technician, you'll play a key role in the delivery and commissioning of sophisticated BAS projects while providing leadership and guidance to a team of technicians in the field.
You'll be involved in a wide range of projects, meaning no two weeks will look the same. One day you could be supporting a critical healthcare facility, the next leading work on a university laboratory, commercial office tower, federal building, or large-scale education campus.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on technically while also mentoring others and helping drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of Building Automation Technicians on project sites
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and technical guidance to less experienced team members
  • Commission, troubleshoot, and optimise Building Automation Systems
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and customers to ensure successful project delivery
  • Support installations across healthcare facilities, hospitals, schools, laboratories, commercial properties, and federal projects
  • Perform system diagnostics and resolve complex controls issues
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards
  • Build strong relationships with clients and act as a technical leader in the field

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS)
  • Strong leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience
  • Advanced proficiency with Tridium Niagara, which is a key requirement for this role
  • Experience commissioning, programming, troubleshooting, or supporting BAS/DDC systems
  • Knowledge of additional DDC platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Distech, Alerton, Delta Controls, Honeywell, Automated Logic, or similar systems would be highly advantageous
  • Strong problem-solving skills and customer-facing communication abilities
  • Ability to lead from the front and support project delivery across multiple sites
