Controls Systems Integrator - Building Automation Systems (BAS)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Controls Systems Integrator to support the integration, programming, and commissioning of Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial and industrial facilities. This role is based out of Chattanooga, TN, with regular travel to Knoxville and North Georgia project sites.

The ideal candidate has strong experience working across multiple BAS platforms-preferably Tridium (Niagara), Honeywell, and Siemens-and is comfortable integrating systems, troubleshooting communication networks, and delivering high-quality, fully functional solutions to clients.


Key Responsibilities

System Integration & Programming

  • Integrate and configure BAS platforms including Tridium Niagara, Honeywell, and Siemens systems

  • Develop and implement control logic, point databases, and system architecture

  • Build and maintain system graphics, dashboards, and alarm structures

Protocol & Network Integration

  • Integrate systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP-based communications

  • Troubleshoot and resolve communication issues between devices and systems

  • Configure network components (IP addressing, routers, switches, VLANs as needed)

Commissioning & Troubleshooting

  • Perform system startup, point-to-point verification, and commissioning

  • Diagnose and resolve complex integration and system performance issues

  • Support field technicians with advanced troubleshooting and system optimization

Project Collaboration

  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to deliver projects on time and within scope

  • Interpret control drawings, sequences of operation, and technical specifications

  • Assist with system design feedback and integration planning

Documentation & Standards

  • Maintain accurate documentation including system backups, integration maps, and as-built records

  • Follow and contribute to company programming and integration standards

  • Provide clear documentation of system changes and modifications

Customer Interaction

  • Interface with customers during commissioning and troubleshooting activities

  • Provide technical support and basic system training to end users

  • Represent the company professionally on job sites


Qualifications

Required

  • 3-7+ years of experience in building automation, controls integration, or BAS programming

  • Hands-on experience with Tridium Niagara (N4 preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Honeywell and Siemens BAS platforms

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control strategies

  • Experience integrating systems using BACnet, Modbus, and related protocols

  • Ability to read and interpret control drawings and system architecture diagrams

  • Willingness to travel regularly to Knoxville and North Georgia (with occasional overnight stays if needed)

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred

  • Niagara certification (AX or N4)

  • Experience with multi-vendor system integration and retrofits

  • Knowledge of IT/networking fundamentals (subnets, routing, firewalls)

  • Experience with API integration's or advanced data/analytics platforms

  • Technical degree or diploma in HVAC, Electrical, Automation, or related field

Work Environment

  • Based out of Chattanooga, TN, with frequent travel to Knoxville and North Georgia

  • Combination of office, remote system work, and field/site commissioning

  • Exposure to commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings

  • Occasional extended hours during commissioning phases
