Director of Civil Engineering
Schedule: 4 to 5 days per week in office
Our client is a long-standing civil engineering firm focused on land development, master planning, entitlements, and environmental consulting. The firm has been operating since the 1950s and ownership has now passed onto the current CEO.
This is a planned succession hire. The Director of Civil Engineering will initially work alongside and be trained by the CEO, who is currently managing the team. Over time, this individual will take over day-to-day leadership of the civil engineering group and help drive its continued growth.
- Lead the civil engineering practice, overseeing project delivery, staffing, quality control, and overall performance
- Manage key client relationships and serve as a senior point of contact on active projects
- Drive business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, developing scopes of work, fee structures, and proposals
- Review and negotiate contracts, manage project financials, and ensure profitability across the portfolio
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to project managers and engineering staff
- Collaborate closely with internal partners across surveying, architecture, and development to support integrated project delivery
- Play an active role in shaping the growth strategy and long-term direction of the civil group
- Base salary range: $160,000 to $200,000+, bonuses, and significant equity component
