Director, Power Delivery Operations & Client Services

Location: Greater Philadelphia Area

An established engineering and infrastructure consulting firm is seeking a senior leader to help drive growth, client success, and operational excellence within its Power Delivery practice. This individual will play a key role in overseeing project execution, managing client relationships, leading a team of project managers, and expanding business throughout the utility and energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and mentor a team of project managers, fostering professional development and long-term career growth.
• Establish performance expectations, provide coaching, and support employee development initiatives.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new team members.
• Promote a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on accountability and client service.
• Support leadership development and strengthen project management best practices across the team.

Client Management & Project Oversight

• Build and maintain strong relationships with utility companies, energy developers, and EPC organizations.
• Serve as an executive point of contact for strategic clients and major programs.
• Oversee project delivery across a portfolio of transmission, distribution, and substation projects.
• Monitor project financial performance, schedules, budgets, quality, and contractual commitments.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Guide project teams in managing scope, contract requirements, stakeholder expectations, and project closeout activities.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve escalated project or client concerns.

Business Growth & Market Development

• Drive strategic growth initiatives within the power delivery market.
• Identify opportunities to expand relationships with existing clients while developing new business partnerships.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to establish regional growth plans and market objectives.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
• Support contract negotiations, service agreements, and pricing discussions.
• Evaluate market trends, client needs, and competitive positioning to identify growth opportunities.

Desired Background

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Strong experience leading utility-focused transmission, distribution, and substation engineering programs.
• Proven track record managing client relationships and growing business within the power delivery sector.
• Demonstrated success leading teams, managing financial performance, and overseeing large project portfolios.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while balancing operational, financial, and business development responsibilities.
