Location: Woodinville, WA
Salary Range: $135,000 - $185,000 (DOE) + bonus potential and overtime
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

A well known local general contractor is seeking an experienced Earthwork & Utilities Superintendent to join their growing company based in Woodinville, WA. This role is responsible for leading self-perform and subcontracted earthwork and underground utility operations on heavy civil, commercial, and public works projects throughout the Puget Sound region. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong safety mindset, excellent planning skills, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality work on schedule.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily field operations for earthwork, grading, excavation, and wet/dry utility installation
  • Manage and coordinate foremen, crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with plans, specifications, schedules, and safety standards
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, owners, and utility agencies
  • Plan and execute short- and long-term schedules, including look-ahead planning
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, production tracking, and field documentation
  • Enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and site-specific safety plans
  • Assist with constructability reviews, sequencing, and problem-solving in the field
  • Support project closeout, punch list completion, and final inspections

Experience Needed

  • 5+ years of experience in earthwork and underground utilities within heavy civil or site development construction
  • Proven background managing grading, excavation, storm, sewer, and water installations
  • Experience working on public works and/or private commercial projects
  • Demonstrated success supervising multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of means and methods, production rates, and field logistics
  • Experience working in Washington State or similar regulatory environments preferred

Qualifications Needed

  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a field-first mindset
  • Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans and specifications
  • Solid working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices
  • Proficiency with construction technology such as HCSS, Procore, or similar systems preferred
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local job sites
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training a plus

  • Competitive salary range: $135,000 - $185,000, depending on experience
