A growing heavy civil and site development contractor in the Federal Way area is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator who takes pride in quality work, values safety, and enjoys working on a wide variety of civil construction projects.
The company performs site development, excavation, grading, underground utility, roadway, and infrastructure projects throughout the region and is looking for someone who can step in and make an immediate impact.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, motor graders, skid steers, compactors, and haul trucks
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation activities
- Assist with underground utility installation including storm, sewer, and water systems
- Read and interpret grades, stakes, plans, and project specifications
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs
- Work closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews to ensure projects stay on schedule
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Maintain equipment in a clean and professional condition
- Support crews with labor tasks as needed
Qualifications
- 3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience in civil construction
- Experience operating excavators, dozers, loaders, and other heavy equipment
- Strong understanding of grading, excavation, and utility installation
- Ability to read grade stakes and construction plans
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe operating procedures
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation to jobsites
