A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Water/Wastewater Hydraulic Modeler to join its growing municipal infrastructure team. This position offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced modelers supporting a diverse range of public-sector clients throughout the Pacific Northwest.
The firm maintains a strong backlog of municipal projects involving water, wastewater, and stormwater systems, and is committed to fostering a collaborative, flexible, and employee-focused work environment. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of hydraulic modeling assignments, utility planning efforts, and infrastructure improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
The Hydraulic Modeler will:
- Utilize industry-standard software to analyze data and develop, calibrate, and maintain hydraulic models for water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Perform system evaluations to identify deficiencies, assess alternatives, support capital planning efforts, and accommodate future growth projections.
- Develop and evaluate operational control strategies to improve utility system performance and efficiency.
- Prepare technical memorandums, reports, and presentations to communicate modeling approaches and findings.
- Collaborate with project teams and clients while supporting projects in technical, engineering, and project management capacities.
- Assist with utility planning and infrastructure studies through advanced analytics, data management, custom tool development, and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of relevant experience in hydraulic modeling, utility engineering, or related consulting work.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or ability to obtain licensure.
- Experience with model development, calibration, data management, and hydraulic analysis.
- Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software platforms.
- Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

- Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
