A well-established global environmental and engineering consulting firm is seeking a Principal Environmental Consultant to help expand its Due Diligence, Site Solutions, and Redevelopment practice in the Bay Area. This is a high-impact seller-doer opportunity for an experienced environmental professional with strong client relationships, technical expertise, and a proven ability to grow business.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building client relationships, leading complex environmental projects, mentoring teams, and shaping the growth of a regional practice.
What You'll Do
- Drive business development efforts and expand relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Lead and manage environmental consulting projects involving:
- Environmental due diligence
- Site investigation and remediation
- Brownfield redevelopment
- Real estate transactions
- Contaminated soil, groundwater, soil vapor, and indoor air assessments
- Regulatory compliance and hazardous waste site management
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing strategic technical and regulatory guidance.
- Maintain and grow a portfolio of work sufficient to support team growth and ongoing practice development.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, quality, and profitability.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Review technical deliverables and provide senior-level quality assurance.
- Mentor and develop staff while helping build the next generation of leaders within the organization.
- Promote a strong culture of health, safety, and operational excellence.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of environmental consulting experience.
- Demonstrated success in business development and client management.
- Experience managing environmental due diligence, remediation, redevelopment, and regulatory projects.
- Bachelor's, Master's, orPh.D. in:
- Environmental Engineering
- Civil Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Geology
- Earth Science
- Environmental Science or related discipline
- Professional registration or certifications such as PE, PG, CHG, or similar credentials preferred.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Existing client relationships and regional market presence in Northern California preferred.

Compensation
Base Salary: $190,000 - $235,000 annually
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, business development track record, and overall market alignment. Additional bonus opportunities and a comprehensive benefits package are available.
