Senior Estimator (Heavy Civil Construction)
Location: Tennessee
Are you an experienced Senior Estimator with a background in water and wastewater construction? We are partnering with a well-established general contractor that specializes in the construction of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, and related utility infrastructure projects throughout Tennessee and the Southeast.
This is an opportunity to play a key role in securing and delivering complex municipal infrastructure projects while working with an organization known for its strong backlog, employee-focused culture, and long-term growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Lead the estimating process for water and wastewater treatment plant projects, pump stations, lift stations, and underground utility work.
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop accurate cost estimates and bid proposals.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing for civil, structural, mechanical, process piping, and electrical scopes.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Develop bid strategies and participate in bid reviews with executive leadership.
- Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering alternatives.
- Maintain relationships with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Support preconstruction efforts and assist project teams during project handoff.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
- Strong experience estimating water/wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, or heavy civil infrastructure projects.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with estimating software and takeoff tools.
- Strong understanding of municipal and public bid projects.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
