Position Overview
The BIM/Revit Electrical Specialist will work closely with electrical engineers, project managers, and multi-disciplinary design teams to develop high-quality BIM models and construction documents for a wide range of MEP projects. This role requires expertise in Revit, strong understanding of electrical systems, and a passion for leveraging technology to enhance design workflows.
This position follows a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work both remotely and in our Tampa office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, manage, and maintain detailed electrical BIM models using Revit for commercial and institutional MEP projects.
- Produce electrical design drawings including power, lighting, fire alarm, technology, and other low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to ensure accurate coordination between electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and architectural models.
- Support BIM standards, templates, and workflows to improve model quality and efficiency.
- Conduct clash detection and participate in coordination meetings as needed.
- Assist with project documentation, revisions, and quality control throughout the design and construction phases.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Revit functionalities and industry best practices.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical design for building systems within an engineering or architecture firm.
- Fluency in Revit with demonstrated experience developing and managing electrical BIM models.
- Strong understanding of building electrical systems and applicable codes (NEC, NFPA, etc.).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Navisworks, AutoCAD, or BIM 360.
- Familiarity with lighting design tools or load calculation software.
- Experience in MEP consulting environments.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and emerging industry technologies.
