BMS HW Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title: Building Automation Hardware Engineer (HVAC Controls)

Location: Remote (U.S.-based) Compensation: Up to $140,000 annually (based on experience)

About the Role

We're seeking a detail-oriented Hardware Engineer with a passion for HVAC systems and building automation to join our dynamic integration team. In this role, you'll design and optimize HVAC systems to work seamlessly with building automation controls, ensuring energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and operational reliability across commercial and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and engineer HVAC systems with a focus on integration with BAS/BMS platforms (e.g., Niagara, WebCTRL, EcoStruxure, etc.)

  • Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure electrical and mechanical systems are fully aligned

  • Develop electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams for HVAC-related control systems

  • Perform load calculations, equipment sizing, and sequence of operations development

  • Support remote commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization

  • Ensure compliance with NEC, ASHRAE, and relevant local codes

  • Interface with project managers, field technicians, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

  • 3+ years of experience in building automation or HVAC design

  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control sequences, and electrical integration

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools

  • Familiarity with SCADA, EPMS, or IoT-enabled building systems is a plus

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

  • Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fully remote environment
