CHICAGO | Design Manager
My client is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team in Illinois. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead and direct complex transportation engineering projects, focusing on design excellence and project delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and perform project designs and calculations, considering construction sequence, techniques, material selection, and code compliance.
- Utilize discipline-specific design software and interpret computer printouts.
- Oversee and direct construction cost estimates, including quantity takeoffs and unit pricing.
- Prepare and direct specifications and bid documents.
- Conduct and direct project site observations, including existing conditions and construction progress.
- Manage project documentation and drawing reviews.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to share or obtain information.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois required.
