Location: Detroit, MI
Compensation: $85,000 - $120,000 base salary
Schedule: Hybrid (field + office / some remote flexibility)
A well-established environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to support remediation projects across Michigan. This role blends technical execution, client management, and team leadership, working alongside a multidisciplinary group of engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects from scoping through closure
- Lead work under EGLE Part 201 and Part 213 programs, including reporting and regulatory strategy
- Develop conceptual site models (CSMs) and evaluate exposure pathways
- Oversee site characterization activities including soil, groundwater, soil gas, and sediment investigations
- Evaluate remedial options and help drive cost-effective closure strategies with regulatory agencies
- Prepare and review technical reports, work plans, and proposals
- Coordinate subcontractors (bidding, scheduling, oversight, and compliance)
- Maintain strong communication with clients, regulators, and internal teams
- Support junior staff through mentorship and project guidance
What They're Looking For
- 5-10+ years of environmental consulting or remediation experience (Michigan focus preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of EGLE regulations (Part 201 / 213)
- Experience with petroleum / UST / refinery / pipeline-related sites is a plus
- Proven ability to move sites through investigation to closure
- Background in remediation, compliance, and due diligence
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
- 40-hour HAZWOPER (current or refresher)
- PE, PG, or other professional certifications are a plus

- ~20% travel, primarily regional (some overnight possible)
