Position Overview

A growing civil engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Roadway Project Manager to lead municipal transportation projects throughout Fort Worth and the surrounding North Texas market. This individual will be responsible for project delivery, client management, business development, and mentoring technical staff while serving as a key leader within the roadway practice.

The ideal candidate will possess strong municipal roadway design and project management experience, established client relationships within the Fort Worth market, and a demonstrated ability to successfully pursue and win new work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver roadway and transportation projects for municipal clients throughout Fort Worth, Tarrant County, and surrounding communities.
  • Oversee projects from planning and design through final construction documents, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, agency representatives, and project stakeholders.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate with drainage, traffic, survey, utility, and environmental disciplines.
  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, estimates (PS&E), technical reports, and project deliverables.
  • Mentor and develop EITs, Project Engineers, and junior staff within the roadway group.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with municipal clients and key stakeholders throughout North Texas.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new project opportunities through active business development and client engagement.
  • Lead proposal efforts, project interviews, and strategic pursuit planning.
  • Contribute to the growth of the transportation practice through repeat business, new client acquisition, and market expansion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to establish long-term growth strategies for the Fort Worth roadway practice.

  • Intersection improvements and traffic operations upgrades
  • Bond program and capital improvement projects
  • Urban roadway and utility infrastructure improvements
  • Pedestrian, bicycle, and multimodal transportation projects
  • Municipal roadway design and construction administration services

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.
  • 10+ years of roadway engineering experience with progressive project management responsibilities.
  • Strong background in municipal roadway design and project delivery.
  • Experience managing project scopes, schedules, budgets, and technical teams.
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and win new work.
  • Experience leading proposals, interviews, and project pursuits.
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, MicroStation, or related roadway design software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Existing relationships with the City of Fort Worth, Tarrant County, neighboring municipalities, NTTA, or TxDOT Fort Worth District.
  • Successful track record managing municipal roadway programs and transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Experience serving in a seller-doer capacity with responsibility for both project delivery and business development.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow client accounts and generate repeat business.
  • Interest in helping expand and lead a growing roadway practice in the Fort Worth market.
