Group Manager - Geotechnical Engineering (Satellite Office)

A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm is seeking a Group Manager to launch and lead its new Morgantown, WV satellite office. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced geotechnical engineer to shape a new branch, manage multidisciplinary projects, and drive business growth in a thriving market.
What You'll Do:
- Lead and manage geotechnical and construction materials testing (CMT) projects
- Assemble and guide project teams through the full lifecycle-from planning to delivery
- Oversee project budgets, schedules, staffing, and quality control
- Review technical designs, drawings, and specifications
- Drive business development through networking, proposals, and client engagement
- Manage branch operations including hiring, forecasting, and staff development
- Foster a positive, high-performance culture aligned with company values
What You'll Bring:
- 8+ years of technical and managerial experience in engineering consulting
- Proven leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong business acumen with P&L responsibility
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
- Deep commitment to safety and engineering excellence
- Knowledge of the local/regional engineering market is a plus
Education & Credentials:
- Required: B.S. in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited), with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering
- Preferred: M.S. in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical focus)
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- Base Salary: $115,000 - $140,000/year
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): $140,000 - $170,000/year
