Overview
A leading multidisciplinary consulting firm specializing in audiovisual, acoustics, and technology systems design is seeking a Junior AV Design Engineer. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop technical expertise in AV system design while contributing to complex, high-profile projects across corporate, institutional, and cultural sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design and documentation of audiovisual systems, including conferencing, presentation, and integrated AV solutions
- Assist in developing drawing packages (plans, schematics, details) using AutoCAD/Revit
- Participate in system layout, equipment selection, and signal flow development under senior engineer guidance
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders including architects, clients, and contractors
- Contribute to preparation of specifications, reports, and design narratives
- Assist with construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews and site visits
- Stay current with AV technologies, standards, and industry best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field
- 0-3 years of experience in AV design, engineering, or systems integration (internships acceptable)
- Familiarity with AV systems (audio, video, control, conferencing) and signal flow concepts
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience preferred
- Understanding of construction documentation and design processes is a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or progress toward certification is a plus
