Lead Interior Designer
A modernist residential design studio is seeking a Lead Interior Designer to support its growing interiors practice in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Lead interior design scope across multiple projects, ensuring complete and accurate documentation through all phases.
- Manage design direction, schedules, budgets, and client communication.
- Coordinate closely with architects, contractors, fabricators, and consultants.
- Oversee concept development, material selection, FF&E specifications, and construction documentation.
- Review submittals, RFIs, and consultant coordination items for California projects.
- Support construction administration, including site visits and field reviews.
- Mentor the interiors team and help grow the department's capabilities.
- Maintain organized workflows to ensure timely delivery of all milestones.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or related field.
- 7+ years of interior design experience.
- Strong background in modernist design and residential interiors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once with strong time‑management skills.
- Experience preparing construction drawings, specs, and schedules.
- Familiarity with California project processes (submittals, RFIs, coordination).
- Proficiency in BIM/3D modeling; ArchiCAD a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
