Manager, External and Regulatory Affairs
The Opportunity:
A privately held clean energy company is seeking a Manager of External and Regulatory Affairs to support its strategic engagement across key U.S. power markets. This full-time role, based in the Greater Boston area, offers the chance to help shape regulatory and market outcomes in PJM, MISO, SPP, and other emerging regions, while contributing to the growth of modern, low-carbon power generation.
Responsibilities:
- Support and execute the company's regulatory strategy across multiple ISO/RTO footprints
- Participate in stakeholder proceedings and market design initiatives
- Monitor interconnection processes and identify opportunities for growth
- Track and engage in legislative and regulatory efforts at the state and local level
- Represent the company in relevant trade associations and industry forums
- Manage external consultants and ensure alignment with company objectives
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure regulatory strategy supports development and commercial goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electricity generation, wholesale markets, or regulatory affairs
- Strong understanding of ISO/RTO structures and market principles
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to grow within a fast-paced team
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data analysis tools
- Willingness to travel (20-30%)
- Commitment to high ethical standards and professional integrity
