Position Summary

The Waterfront/Marine Project Engineer/Manager will play a key role in delivering engineering analysis and design, managing projects, mentoring staff, and maintaining client relationships. Projects range from small-scale private developments to large-scale public infrastructure initiatives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct and review complex structural and geotechnical analyses.
  • Lead the design of waterfront structures such as bulkheads, seawalls, pile-supported platforms, breakwaters, and revetments.
  • Prepare and review permit applications (e.g., NYSDEC, USACE, NYCSBS).
  • Develop technical reports, construction documents, and related correspondence.
  • Supervise field investigations and waterfront construction activities.
  • Manage multiple projects within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Prepare proposals, change orders, invoices, and client communications.
  • Support staff development and contribute to business development efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Structural, Geotechnical, or Coastal Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
  • 6+ years of relevant waterfront/marine engineering experience.
  • Strong technical writing and project management skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory codes and permitting processes.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and quantitative analysis.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
