About the Role

A leading global renewable energy developer is seeking a dynamic and experienced Project Manager to join its Tokyo-based team. This role is pivotal in driving the development and execution of renewable energy projects-primarily solar and BESS-across Japan. The successful candidate will manage projects from inception through to commissioning, ensuring alignment with regulatory, technical, and financial requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects (solar, BESS, hybrid), from feasibility to commissioning.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, legal, finance) and external stakeholders (government agencies, contractors, landowners).
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with Japanese regulations and permitting processes.
  • Oversee procurement, construction, and quality assurance activities.
  • Represent the company in meetings with local authorities and community stakeholders.


Requirements

  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the energy or infrastructure sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Japan's renewable energy market and permitting landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
