Project Manager - Mechanical Construction
The Opportunity
Key Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical construction projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts
- Lead project kickoff meetings and coordinate with field supervision, subcontractors, and vendors
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment to meet project milestones
- Review and manage subcontractor scopes, change orders, and payment applications
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and contract requirements
- Track project labor productivity, cost performance, and risk exposure
- Coordinate with engineering and estimating teams during preconstruction and design phases
- Maintain strong client relationships and serve as the primary point of contact
- Prepare and present project reporting, including cost-to-complete and schedule updates
- Drive project closeout activities, including documentation, commissioning support, and final billing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience managing mechanical construction projects
- Proven experience with HVAC, piping, and/or plumbing systems
- Strong understanding of project financials, contracts, and change management
- Experience managing projects valued at $10M+ preferred
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project management and construction software tools
