Project Scheduler- Austin TX

Our client is seeking a Senior Scheduler to support major water/wastewater construction projects across the United States, with project values ranging from $900 million to $1.5 billion. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate and reliable project schedules using industry best practices and collaboration with project team members.
  • Update schedules in line with company procedures and industry standards; communicate findings and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Evaluate project changes for schedule impacts and help prepare contractual change notices.
  • Review schedules for compliance with internal procedures, contract requirements, and recognized scheduling practices; recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly schedule reports for project teams and leadership.
  • Provide schedule support and guidance to users of scheduling software.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Plan construction, startup, and commissioning activities at the project site.
  • Inspect project sites to monitor progress.
  • Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and related technical data.
  • Estimate durations for labor, materials, and equipment to determine feasibility.
  • Prepare or present schedules for pursuits and proposals.
  • Identify project risks and develop appropriate risk management strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of experience, skills, and training).
  • 10-15 years of project scheduling experience, including developing baseline schedules, incorporating subcontractor schedules, schedule updates, progress analysis, and compliance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of general construction practices and sequencing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and common business applications.
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera scheduling software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including customer‑facing experience.
  • Ability to work full‑time on an active project site.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project planning experience.
  • Experience with water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
  • Familiarity with additional scheduling software (MS Project, NetPoint, etc.).
  • Earned Value Management experience on self‑perform projects.
  • Experience with schedule analytics tools (SmartPM, Acumen Fuse, etc.).
  • Experience with 4D/BIM software.
  • Knowledge of Lean Construction or the Last Planner System.
  • Professional scheduler certification such as PMI‑SP or AACE PSP.
