Sales Engineer/Estimator - HVAC
We are partnering with a well-established, employee-focused mechanical contractor seeking an experienced Sales Engineer / Estimator to join its construction division. This is a full-time, client-facing role that blends HVAC system design with consultative sales, estimating, and project oversight.
Role Overview
- Design and deliver turnkey heating, cooling, and ventilation solutions for commercial and industrial clients
- Work directly with building owners, facility managers, and key decision makers in a relationship-driven sales environment
- Manage opportunities from initial concept and design through proposal, negotiation, and project handoff
Key Technical Responsibilities
- Design and layout air duct, exhaust, and make-up air systems
- Apply and engineer HVAC solutions including boiler, steam, hot water, chilled water, and refrigerant-based systems
- Coordinate system controls, including integration with building automation systems or standalone controls
Sales, Estimating & Project Responsibilities
- Develop accurate estimates and detailed proposals, clearly communicating value to stakeholders
- Lead direct-to-owner sales efforts, including site visits, scope development, and contract negotiations
- Support or oversee project execution post-award to ensure delivery aligns with scope, budget, and schedule
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Strong background in commercial or industrial HVAC system design (airside, hydronic, and refrigerant systems)
- Experience in technical sales, estimating, or design-build project delivery
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with owners and end users
