Senior Automation Engineer - Rockwell Automation Specialist

Position Overview:
A skilled Automation Engineer is sought to specialize in Rockwell Automation platforms, with expertise in Allen-Bradley PLCs and FactoryTalk View SE and ME. This hybrid role combines on-site work at the Hopedale, MA facility with remote flexibility, supporting automation initiatives across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automation systems using Rockwell Automation technologies
- Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, etc.)
- Develop and maintain HMI/SCADA systems using FactoryTalk View SE and ME
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to support automation projects
- Conduct testing, validation, and commissioning of control systems
- Provide technical support for automation-related issues
- Maintain documentation for electrical schematics, programming logic, and system configurations
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ years of hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation products
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming (RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000)
- Experience developing HMI applications with FactoryTalk View SE and ME
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with industrial networking and communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, ControlNet, etc.)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a hybrid environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing or process automation environments
- Knowledge of motion control and VFDs
- Familiarity with scripting or additional automation platforms
- Experience with HVAC and process control systems
- Ignition SCADA platform experience
Work Environment:
This hybrid position requires on-site presence at the Hopedale, MA facility for system integration, commissioning, and support tasks, with flexibility for remote work depending on project needs.
