A fast-growing AI infrastructure company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, construction, and operational support of high-performance data centers. These facilities power some of the most advanced AI workloads in the world, and this role is central to ensuring their reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
You'll be involved in everything from reviewing electrical designs and equipment submittals to troubleshooting site issues, conducting root cause analyses, and supporting upgrades to existing infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Review electrical designs and equipment submittals for new data centers
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for site/equipment issues
- Support operational teams with training and procedure development
- Manage upgrades to existing facilities to improve capacity and efficiency
- Conduct site audits and produce risk assessments with mitigation plans
- Act as resident engineer during construction and commissioning phases
- Collaborate across design, safety, hardware, and operations teams
- Manage multiple concurrent projects across different regions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong engineering judgment and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing engineering projects and working with consultants
- Ability to build trust across cross-functional teams
- Comfortable with both office and field work
- Based in New York State and able to travel as needed
Preferred Experience
- Mission-critical facility design (e.g., data centers, telecom)
- Familiarity with electrical systems: UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, ATS, EPMS/SCADA/BMS controls
- Ability to interpret and produce construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of building codes and regional regulations
- Hands-on experience as a design consultant or owner's engineer
