Senior Engineer - Protection
looking for an experienced Protection & Control Engineer who can serve as a technical lead on complex projects involving medium-voltage power systems. This role offers remote flexibility with occasional travel to Chicago.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead design, execution, and FAT for protection and control schemes using microprocessor-based IEDs and automation controllers.
- Develop and commission distribution automation and source transfer applications for utility and industrial customers.
- Support proposals with cost estimates and technical insights.
- Assist Field Service teams with commissioning and post-commissioning support.
- Apply deep knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NFPA) and protocols (DNP 3.0, IEC 61850).
- Mentor junior engineers and lead training sessions.
- Stay current with technology advancements and contribute to standard work practices.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PE preferred).
- 10+ years in electric transmission/distribution systems, automation, and protection & control.
- Expertise in relay logic, programming, and MV applications.
- Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
