Senior Environmental Consultant - Atlanta

Summary
An established environmental services firm is seeking a senior-level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist with at least 10 years of consulting experience to support and lead environmental projects across Georgia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental due diligence, remediation, and regulatory compliance, with proven success managing projects and client relationships. Familiarity with Georgia EPD programs such as USTMP, Brownfield, HSRA, and VRP is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and manages environmental projects including site characterization, due diligence, remedial design and implementation, and technical reporting.
  • Prepares high-quality technical documents such as reports, letters, memoranda, and remedial designs addressing soil, groundwater, and sediment contamination.
  • Interprets environmental data and develops site-specific conceptual site models.
  • Designs and evaluates remedial alternatives to address site contaminants.
  • Provides environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting support.
  • Develops and maintains strong client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Prepares proposals and cost estimates for environmental services and consulting engagements.
  • Oversees project contracts, budgets, schedules, and staff to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Performs and reports on environmental project tasks with minimal supervision, applying sound scientific and engineering principles.
  • Mentors junior and mid-level staff, fostering technical growth and project engagement.

Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of environmental consulting experience with a focus on soil and groundwater investigation and remediation.
  • P.G. or P.E. license preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Georgia EPD programs including USTMP, Brownfield, HSRA, and VRP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on technical accuracy and detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership, project management, and business development capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support team success.

Travel

  • This position requires moderate travel, up to approximately 40%, to support business objectives and client engagements. Travel may be scheduled or on short notice and typically includes job sites, field locations, or regional offices.
