Base Salary: $155,000- $185,000 + Bonus(s)
A well‑respected heavy civil General Contractor in the Portland metro area is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex civil, infrastructure, and public‑works projects. This role offers the opportunity to lead multimillion‑dollar programs, mentor project teams, and take ownership of high‑impact work throughout the region.
About the Role
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for full lifecycle management of heavy civil construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk control, subcontractor management, and client/agency coordination. This individual should bring strong technical understanding of civil scopes and a proven ability to deliver challenging projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Experience Needed
- 8-15+ years of experience in heavy civil construction (roadways, utilities, bridges, public works, site development, or structural concrete)
- Proven ability to manage $10M-$50M+ projects from pre‑construction through close‑out
- Experience leading project teams, subcontractors, and field operations
- Background working with city/county/state agencies and inspectors
- Strong budgeting, scheduling (MS Project or similar), and cost‑tracking experience
- Familiarity with permitting, environmental compliance, and utility coordination
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent scopes
Qualifications Needed
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of civil plans, specifications, environmental regulations, and contract documents
- Proficiency with project management software (Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam, or similar)
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, and subcontractors
- Commitment to safety leadership and risk mitigation
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites across the Portland metro area
