Senior Project Manager - Commercial Construction - Orange County
Position Summary
A growing General Contractor in Orange County is seeking a Senior Project Manager known for delivering high-quality commercial projects and maintaining a strong, team-oriented culture. Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from preconstruction through turnover and closeout.
- Develop and manage project schedules, identifying risks and implementing recovery strategies.
- Oversee budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to confirm scope alignment.
- Manage procurement, including bid solicitation, scope leveling, and subcontractor/vendor selection.
- Administer RFIs, submittals, change orders, and pay applications.
- Coordinate with field teams to ensure quality control and safety compliance.
- Facilitate jobsite meetings and stakeholder updates with clear communication and actionable outcomes.
- Monitor productivity, cost trends, and project performance metrics.
- Maintain consistent reporting and communication across all stakeholders.
- Support permitting processes, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive punchlist completion, project closeout documentation, and final billing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects at a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager level.
- Strong knowledge of schedule management, budgeting, cost control, and forecasting.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Demonstrated success coordinating subcontractors and managing procurement processes.
- Understanding of safety compliance, quality control, and project closeout procedures.
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing large-scale or complex commercial construction projects.
- Background in preconstruction, budgeting, and buyout strategy.
- Experience mentoring junior staff and supporting team development.
- Familiarity with multiple project delivery methods.
- OSHA or similar safety certifications.
