Base Salary: $130,000 - $180,000, depending on experience

Role Overview
An established Massachusetts construction firm is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee complex civil and public infrastructure projects from preconstruction through final closeout.
The company delivers a diverse mix of technically challenging work, including water and wastewater infrastructure, site development, utilities, public facilities, and community improvement projects. This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can successfully manage multiple projects while maintaining control of financial performance, schedule, procurement, documentation, field coordination, and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple construction projects from preconstruction planning through turnover and closeout
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and schedules of values
- Take ownership of project financial performance, including cost reporting, billing, and profitability
- Manage subcontractor and vendor procurement, scope review, negotiations, contracts, and purchase orders
- Coordinate closely with Superintendents to plan staffing, equipment, materials, and project sequencing
- Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement logs, and other project controls
- Review plans, specifications, contracts, and scopes to identify potential risks and opportunities
- Monitor project progress regularly and address schedule or cost concerns before they escalate
- Maintain productive relationships with clients, engineers, architects, inspectors, public officials, subcontractors, and vendors
- Lead preconstruction meetings, project reviews, and closeout activities
- Support estimating and constructability reviews during the pursuit and planning stages
- Mentor Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Engineers
- Ensure projects meet expectations for safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction
What They're Looking For
- 10+ years of construction project management experience
- Proven success managing large or technically complex construction projects
- Experience with civil infrastructure, water/wastewater, utilities, sitework, public construction, or comparable project types is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of project budgets, schedules, contracts, procurement, change orders, and cost controls
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents
- Experience working closely with field leadership and understanding how projects are built
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities without losing attention to detail
- Experience with construction management and scheduling software
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience will be considered
