Senior Transportation Engineer
Our client, a well-established and respected employee-owned engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead and support roadway and highway design projects across Montana. This is a high-impact role with a clear path to advance into State Lead or Department Manager positions.
This position may be based in any of the firm's Montana offices (e.g., Bozeman, Helena, Billings), or remotely for candidates who reside in Montana.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of transportation projects, including highways, arterials, bike/pedestrian facilities, and municipal roadways.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and client relationships.
- Prepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with MDT, AASHTO, and local standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
- Support business development through proposals and client engagement.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Montana PE license (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).
- 8+ years of experience in transportation engineering and project management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with MDT standards and procedures preferred.
- Must reside in Montana (for remote work eligibility).
