Senior Transportation Engineer
Our client, a nationally recognized Top 25 ENR engineering firm with a strong national presence, is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to support major roadway and infrastructure projects across Tennessee and the Southeast. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced transportation professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take on high-impact work in Nashville, Knoxville, or Chattanooga.
The Senior Transportation Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading design efforts for roadway, highway, and multimodal transportation projects
- Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with DOT standards
- Coordinating with internal teams, subconsultants, and external stakeholders
- Supporting project managers with technical execution and quality control
- Participating in client meetings, presentations, and public engagement efforts
- Mentoring junior engineers and contributing to team development
- Assisting with proposal development and business growth initiatives
The ideal candidate will have:
- At least 8-15 years of transportation engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of TDOT standards and procedures
- Proficiency in MicroStation, GEOPAK, or OpenRoads
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee (or ability to obtain quickly)
- Excellent communication, technical, and organizational skills
- A collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring and leadership
