The Opportunity
A well-established international multidisciplinary consultancy with a strong and long-standing presence in the Middle East has secured a major urban development project in Dubai and is seeking an experienced Senior Urban Planner to join its team on an urgent basis.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a high-profile, large-scale development, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across planning, infrastructure, transport and design.
The Role
This is a senior, delivery-focused planning role supporting a landmark urban development project in Dubai. The successful candidate will play a key role in master planning, statutory planning, authority coordination, and client-facing delivery, working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to urban master planning, land use planning, and development frameworks for large-scale projects
- Manage planning submissions, reviews, and approvals with Dubai Municipality and other relevant authorities
- Coordinate with internal engineering, transport, infrastructure, and design teams to ensure integrated planning outcomes
- Prepare and review planning reports, concept plans, layouts, and presentation materials
- Support stakeholder engagement, authority meetings, and client presentations
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior planners where required
Key Requirements
- 7-12 years' experience in urban planning, master planning, or statutory planning
- Direct experience working with Dubai Municipality is highly preferred
- Strong understanding of UAE planning regulations, codes, and approval processes
- Background in large-scale mixed-use, urban regeneration, or master-planned developments
- Excellent communication skills and confidence engaging with clients and authorities
- Degree in Urban Planning, Town Planning, Urban Design or related discipline
- Experience within an international consultancy environment is advantageous
