Senior Vice President Operations - Data Centers
We are seeking a visionary and execution-focused Senior Vice President of Operations to lead and scale the operational strategy for a global data center platform. Based in Virginia, this executive will oversee end-to-end operations across multiple regions, ensuring world-class performance, reliability, and efficiency across the company's hyperscale, colocation, and edge data center portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Operations Leadership: Direct and optimize data center operations across North America, EMEA, and APAC, ensuring uptime, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement operational strategies that support rapid growth, scalability, and sustainability across the platform.
- Team Leadership: Build and lead high-performing regional operations teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Customer Experience: Ensure exceptional service delivery and operational excellence for hyperscale, enterprise, and cloud customers.
- Process Optimization: Drive standardization, automation, and efficiency across maintenance, incident response, capacity planning, and energy management.
- Budget & Performance Management: Oversee operational budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics to ensure cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure adherence to global regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and cybersecurity protocols.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, construction, sales, finance) and external partners to align operations with business goals.
Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in mission-critical infrastructure operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record managing large-scale data center portfolios across multiple geographies.
- Deep understanding of data center design, operations, energy systems, and sustainability practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience with ITIL, ISO, Uptime Institute, and other operational frameworks.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
