Substation Project Manager
Key Responsibilities
- As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading the full lifecycle of projects from the end of development through to final delivery and turnover to the customer. You will serve as the central point of accountability for all aspects of project execution, ensuring that timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met or exceeded.
- You will manage project controls, including the development and maintenance of detailed schedules, cost tracking, and revenue forecasting. Regular reporting will be required for both internal stakeholders and external clients, covering areas such as financial performance, schedule adherence, contract compliance, safety metrics, and risk assessments.
- A strong focus on health and safety is essential. You will work closely with the HSE Manager to promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all relevant safety policies-both internal and customer-specific. You will also be responsible for upholding quality standards through the implementation of robust quality assurance programs.
- Procurement and vendor management will be a key part of your role. You'll collaborate with procurement teams and engineering partners to source and manage consultants, contractors, equipment, and materials. You'll also oversee contract execution, ensuring all parties meet their obligations, and you'll lead negotiations for change orders when project scope or conditions evolve.
- You'll be expected to resolve project issues proactively, document changes thoroughly, and lead regular meetings with both internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress. If permits are not secured during development, you'll be responsible for obtaining them and ensuring ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Finally, you'll coordinate additional resources or external support as needed and apply critical thinking to communicate risks, opportunities, and recommended actions to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
