Superintendent - Geotechnical Construction
We are a leading geotechnical contractor delivering complex, technical foundation solutions across the Northeast. Our teams specialize in drilled shafts, micropiles, soil mixing, shoring systems, and ground improvement technologies. With a strong pipeline of public and private sector work throughout NJ, NY, and PA, we are expanding our field leadership team and seeking an experienced Superintendent to help drive our projects to successful completion.
Position Overview
As a Superintendent, you will be the on-site leader responsible for overseeing daily field operations, managing crews and subcontractors, and ensuring our geotechnical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and to the highest technical standard. You will work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and Safety teams to deliver high-quality work across a variety of heavy civil, infrastructure, commercial, and energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day field operations on geotechnical construction projects.
- Oversee installation of specialty geotechnical systems including drilled shafts, micropiles, soil mixing, shoring, and ground improvement.
- Manage and coordinate field crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific requirements.
- Interpret and understand project plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports.
- Maintain daily logs, production reporting, and quality-control documentation.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and resource forecasting.
- Act as the primary on-site representative, fostering strong relationships with clients, inspectors, GC partners, and vendors.
- Troubleshoot field challenges and collaborate with engineering and project leadership to maintain schedule and quality.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in heavy civil or geotechnical construction, with direct exposure to at least one of the following systems: drilled shafts, micropiles, soil mixing, shoring, ground improvement, or deep foundations.
- Proven experience in a Superintendent, Foreman, or similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical construction means and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to a strong safety culture.
- Willingness to travel to projects throughout NJ, NY & PA.
