Superintendent
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on water and wastewater treatment plant projects in the Los Angeles, CA area. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities for water/wastewater treatment projects
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, field crews, and vendors
- Ensure projects are executed in compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, engineers, and inspectors
- Conduct daily site meetings and maintain detailed field reports
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and promote a strong safety culture
- Monitor material deliveries and equipment usage
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent working directly on the construction of water and/or wastewater treatment plants
- Strong understanding of heavy civil and process/mechanical construction
- Proven ability to manage multiple subcontractors and field crews
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety standards and jobsite compliance
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
- High school diploma required; degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with public works or municipal infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of treatment systems (e.g., filtration, pumps, piping systems, biological processes)
- OSHA 30 certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
