Overview

An established, reputable surveying and engineering organization is seeking a Senior Survey Professional to support technical production, quality assurance, project coordination, and team development. This role is ideal for someone with strong surveying expertise, a detail‑oriented mindset, and the ability to contribute to both office and field operations.


Key Responsibilities

Technical & Production

  • Prepare accurate field work orders for surveying projects
  • Develop legal descriptions, survey control sheets, block sheets, and boundary survey calculations with minimal supervision
  • Review engineering plans and perform construction‑related calculations
  • Prepare title review summaries for ALTA Surveys
  • Calculate lot geometry for subdivision plats
  • Conduct detailedreviewsofcompleteddeliverables including:
    • Houseline Plats
    • Topographic Surveys
    • Boundary Surveys
    • Plats of Survey
    • ALTA Surveys (including title)
    • Easement Plats
    • Dedication Plats
    • Subdivision Plats
    • Legal Descriptions
    • Survey Control Sheets
    • Construction Calculations

Project Management

  • Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules
  • Ensure all services align with contracted scope; identify out‑of‑scope needs
  • Prepare proposals and follow established proposal processes
  • Monitor quality and timeliness of all project deliverables
  • Support accurate billing and address unbilled time, past‑due accounts, and back charges

Leadership & Team Development

  • Mentor and train office and field survey staff
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and support staff development
  • Assist with team‑related HR matters
  • Review and approve timesheets
  • Support workload management and departmental scheduling
  • Maintain and improve field and office surveying standards

Communication & Client Coordination

  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients and internal teams
  • Communicate workload, scope changes, and project status with supervisors
  • Collaborate across disciplines and with sub‑consultants as needed
  • Support marketing and business development initiatives
  • Assist in client retention and relationship‑building efforts

Field Responsibilities

  • Occasionally participate in field survey tasks
  • Organize and maintain survey project files (digital and/or paper)

Qualifications

  • 6-10 years of professional surveying experience (or equivalent combination of experience and education)
  • Strong technical competence in survey calculations and deliverable review
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and support team success
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Positive, collaborative attitude and commitment to quality
