Position Details:
- Role: Engineer III or Senior Engineer (based on experience)
- Focus: Design and engineering for transmission lines in the Carolinas West region
- Skills Needed: Transmission Line engineering theories and principles, good communication skills, ability to work independently
Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze transmission lines
- Create designs and cost estimates
- Provide construction support and solve problems
- Prepare job packages, reports, and drawings
- Manage projects and ensure goals are met
- Develop solutions and make informed decisions
- Build positive working relationships
Requirements:
- Engineer III: Bachelor's in Engineering or Professional Engineer registration, 4+ years of experience
- Senior Engineer: Bachelor's in Engineering or Professional Engineer registration, 5+ years of experience (with PE) or 6+ years (without PE)
Desired Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer Licensure
- Utility industry experience
- Proficient in transmission line design software (e.g., PLS-CADD)
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with design codes and standards
- Proficient in practices of researching solutions, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting those recommendations.
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Good communication skills
