Responsibilities:
- Performing engineering work in water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure.
- Work on engineering planning and design projects.
- Preparation of plans, specifications, and reports for water/wastewater treatment and pumping facilities, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution projects, and water/wastewater master plans/studies.
- Coordinate engineering work for a project of moderate scope or as part of a major project.
- Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects.
- System modeling.
- Permitting and alternative analysis.
- Preparation of technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
- Data entry and analysis.
- Provide engineering services during construction.
- Participate in field activities such as pilot testing, construction phase observations, design phase field measurements, etc.
- Ability to travel when requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, or other similar Engineering field.
- 4 to 8 years of directly-relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain Professional Engineering license within 1 year.
- Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and/or water and sewer hydraulic calculations/modeling software (e.g., WaterGEMS, InfoWater, InfoWorks ICM, InfoSWMM).
