BAS Controls Project Manager

A leading building automation and controls integrator is seeking an experienced BAS Project Manager to lead the delivery of new construction data centre projects. This individual will have full responsibility for project execution, financial performance, and stakeholder coordination across complex, mission‑critical environments.

The ideal candidate has managed large-scale BAS construction programmes with annual portfolios in the $5-10M+ range, and understands the pace, precision, and standards required in data centre delivery.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of new‑build data centre BAS projects
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects with annual oversight of $5-10M+
  • Own project financials including budget, forecasting, cost control, and margin
  • Coordinate internal engineering, programming, commissioning, and field teams
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, GCs, MEPs, and consultants
  • Oversee submittals, RFIs, schedules, change orders, and project documentation
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, QA/QC standards, and safety requirements
  • Lead commissioning phases, system turnover, and client handover
  • Provide accurate reporting on schedule, risk, and financial performance

Required Experience & Background

  • Proven experience managing BAS / BMS construction projects in data centre environments
  • Track record of $5-10M+ annual project oversight
  • Strong understanding of DDC systems, controls architecture, and BAS workflows
  • Experience coordinating programming, commissioning, and startup teams
  • Comfortable managing projects remotely with limited but strategic site travel

Controls & Technical Exposure

  • Tridium Niagara (N4)
  • Distech Controls (preferred)
  • BACnet, Modbus, and IP-based BAS networks
  • HVAC systems in mission‑critical facilities (plant, redundancy, failover)
  • Integration with EPMS, DCIM, and third‑party systems (where applicable)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data centre, mission‑critical, or high‑reliability facilities experience
  • Experience working with hyperscale or colocation clients
  • Contract management (lump sum, GMP, change management)
  • Engineering or technical background in BAS, controls, or HVAC
  • PMP or equivalent certification (nice to have, not required)
