Business Development Manager - Yard Services

Position: Business Development Manager (Yard Services)

Reports to: Regional Business Development Manager, APAC

Key Responsibilities

Market Development

  • Monitor vessel and rig activities, including berthing, maintenance, IRM, and conversion projects across APAC.
  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities for yard services.
  • Gather competitive intelligence and industry trends.
  • Leverage industry connections to promote the company's offerings.

Client Relationship Management

  • Drive business development efforts across targeted regional markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Ensure consistent communication and service excellence with existing and prospective clients.
  • Manage client accounts to maximise engagement across the company's full range of services.
  • Maintain and update leads and sales pipeline in the company's CRM and ERP systems.
  • Support management with accurate forecasting and reporting.

Tendering & Proposal Development

  • Prepare customised tenders and proposals aligned with client specifications.
  • Work closely with internal teams, such as engineering and operations, to deliver competitive and accurate submissions.

Revenue & Strategy Execution

  • Deliver profitable business growth in line with corporate objectives.
  • Execute business development strategies within the mooring and yard services segment.
  • Collaborate with the Regional BD Manager on strategic planning and market intelligence.
  • Develop and deliver client-focused proposals and presentations.

Industry Engagement

  • Represent the company at regional industry events, conferences, and exhibitions.
  • Build and maintain a professional network across the APAC maritime and energy sectors.

Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Keep detailed records of business development activities and client engagements via CRM.
  • Submit visit and meeting reports post-client engagements.
  • Provide regular progress updates to the CCO and Regional BD Manager, including achievements and improvement areas.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years in business development or sales, ideally with 10+ years in the Southeast Asia region.
  • Prior experience in oil & gas, shipyard, IRM/repair, or marine construction sectors is essential.
  • Proven track record in sales growth and client relationship management.

Industry & Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of marine, oil & gas, construction, and ship repair markets.
  • Familiar with rig operations, offshore support vessels (AHTS, OCV, OSV), and SPS support.
  • Experience preparing tenders and client proposals.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, market research, and data-driven sales planning.
  • Ability to deliver tailored, branded presentations for client pitches.

Soft Skills & Other Requirements

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across the APAC region.
  • Culturally aware and capable of managing international relationships.
