Cable Supply Manager
We are looking for a Cable Supply Manager to take full ownership of the export and inter-array cable supply scope within offshore wind projects. This position is responsible for overseeing all engineering, procurement, and contract execution activities related to submarine cable supply, and will lead a small team of cable supply engineers.
The role involves close collaboration with the Cable Package Manager, procurement team, certification bodies, and interface partners (including onshore substations, offshore substations, wind turbine generators, and installation teams) to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality cable systems that meet technical, contractual, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the export and inter-array cable supply scope from early design through to contract execution and delivery.
- Supervise and mentor a team of one or two cable supply engineers.
- Drive the technical design, specification, and certification strategy for submarine cables, including ampacity calculations, thermal modeling, and dynamic ratings.
- Oversee FEED and detailed design activities, ensuring alignment with relevant standards and project-specific requirements.
- Engage with the supply chain to support tendering and contracting for submarine cable supply and associated services.
- Lead negotiations for Cable Supply Agreements and related service contracts.
- Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to define commercial terms, insurance, and warranty structures.
- Manage technical interfaces with adjacent project packages (e.g., offshore substations, onshore substations, wind turbines, and installation).
Additional Responsibilities
- Support survey and site investigation campaigns, ensuring findings are integrated into design and specifications.
- Embed safety-by-design principles and environmental considerations throughout the project lifecycle-from engineering and construction to operations and decommissioning.
- Review and manage engineering deliverables from internal teams, consultants, certifiers, and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with certification and permitting requirements.
- Support permitting processes, due diligence efforts, lender technical advisor (LTA) queries, and operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in submarine power cable projects, with a minimum of 3 years in a developer or EPC environment.
- Proven track record in managing technical scope and contracts for export and/or inter-array cable systems.
- Strong understanding of the offshore wind project lifecycle, submarine cable design, and interface coordination.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEC, CIGRÉ) and certification processes for submarine cables.
- Demonstrated ability to manage both internal stakeholders and external suppliers across engineering and procurement phases.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
- Willingness to be based in Taiwan or relocate as needed.
