CADD Technician
An established land surveying firm is seeking a qualified CADD / Survey Technician to support a wide range of surveying projects. This individual will be responsible for preparing survey plats and maps-including boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys-while ensuring compliance with the standards of various agencies such as VDOT, USACE, and NAVFAC.
The technician will handle both office-based tasks and occasional field assignments. Responsibilities include project management, courthouse research, data processing, CAD file preparation, and construction staking calculations. Work assignments will be communicated by the office manager and may vary based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare survey plats and maps for various types of surveys.
-Ensure deliverables meet agency requirements (e.g., VDOT, USACE, NAVFAC).
-Manage individual projects and coordinate with internal teams.
-Conduct courthouse research and process field data.
-Generate CAD files and perform construction staking calculations.
-Participate in occasional field work as needed.
-Work independently to meet project deadlines and scope requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years of experience in surveying or a related field.
-A degree in Surveying or CAD from an accredited institution or military training may substitute for 2 years of experience.
-Proficiency in Carlson and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
-Experience with MicroStation using GeoPak and/or OpenRoads.
-Strong organizational and communication skills.
-Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.
