A well-established and growing multidisciplinary consulting firm is seeking a seasoned Director of Civil Engineering to lead its civil engineering division. This leadership role offers the opportunity to oversee a talented team of engineers and project managers, guide complex land development and infrastructure projects, and shape the strategic direction of the department. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and a passion for mentoring and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of engineers and project managers across diverse civil engineering projects.
- Oversee project execution from feasibility through construction, ensuring quality, timeliness, and budget adherence.
- Cultivate client relationships, respond to RFQs/RFIs, and drive business development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with permitting, regulatory, and jurisdictional requirements.
- Provide technical oversight, conduct QA/QC reviews, and support proposal development.
- Mentor staff, conduct performance evaluations, and foster a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
- Contribute to strategic planning, resource optimization, and departmental growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 15+ years of progressive experience in engineering and management.
- PE license required; multi-state licensure a plus.
- Proven experience in land development and municipal projects.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in civil design software and tools, including Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites and client meetings.
