The Jacksonville office is their newest and most exciting venture, and they're looking for a dynamic leader to help us grow it exponentially.


Position Overview

As the CMT Department Manager for the Jacksonville office, you will play a pivotal role in building and leading a high-performing team, managing operations, and driving business development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a new office backed by the resources and reputation of a thriving company.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the CMT department, including technicians, project managers, and administrative staff.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring quality control, safety compliance, and timely project delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the Jacksonville office's CMT services.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with contractors, developers, and public agencies.
  • Collaborate with other department heads (Geotechnical, Environmental, Inspections) to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff to support both technical excellence and career development.
  • Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (ASTM, AASHTO, FDOT) and company protocols.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Construction Materials Testing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E) License preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory and field testing procedures for soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and growing departmental revenue.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and client management skills.
  • Familiarity with FDOT and other Florida regulatory requirements is a plus.
