An established general contractor specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on complex projects throughout the Raleigh area. Projects include water treatment plants (WTPs), wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), pump stations, lift stations, force mains, and related utility infrastructure.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who thrives in a field environment and has a proven track record of delivering municipal infrastructure projects safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all daily construction activities on water and wastewater projects.
- Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment resources.
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term project work plans.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, schedules, and safety requirements.
- Conduct daily safety meetings, site inspections, and quality control reviews.
- Monitor productivity, manpower, equipment utilization, and material deliveries.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and owners.
- Identify and resolve field issues while maintaining schedule and budget objectives.
- Maintain project documentation, daily reports, look-ahead schedules, and progress updates.
- Lead project turnover, punch list activities, and closeout efforts.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on heavy civil, water, wastewater, utility, or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Experience constructing one or more of the following:
- Water Treatment Plants (WTP)
- Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP)
- Pump Stations
- Lift Stations
- Force Mains
- Underground Utilities
- Strong knowledge of concrete structures, process piping, mechanical equipment installation, and site utilities.
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and project schedules.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors and self-perform crews.
- Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
