Director of Sales (Corporate Events) - New York
Position Overview
Our client, a leading corporate events and experiential agency, is seeking a Director of Sales to drive new business growth across conferences, meetings, trade shows, incentives, experiential activations, and corporate events. This role is ideal for a proven sales leader with a strong network within the events industry and a track record of developing new client relationships and generating revenue.
The successful candidate will be a true hunter, capable of identifying opportunities, building relationships, and closing high-value event programs with corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development and revenue growth across corporate events and experiential programs.
- Identify, prospect, and secure new clients through networking, referrals, industry events, and outbound outreach.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in marketing, events, communications, and procurement teams.
- Lead client presentations, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
- Partner with creative, production, and operations teams to develop compelling solutions for clients.
- Manage and grow a pipeline of opportunities while maintaining accurate forecasting.
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to generate leads and expand market presence.
- Collaborate with leadership on sales strategy and market expansion initiatives.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of sales or business development experience within an event agency, experiential marketing agency, production company, or corporate events organization.
- Proven track record of generating new business and exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of corporate events, conferences, meetings, trade shows, and experiential activations.
- Existing network of corporate event buyers and marketing decision-makers preferred.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and high-value contracts.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-starter with a hunter mentality and entrepreneurial mindset.
