Earthwork & Utility Superintendent

Location: Woodinville, WA
Pay Range: $60-$70 per hour + overtime
Employment Type: Full-Time

A well-established general contractor is seeking an experienced Earthwork & Utility Superintendent to lead underground utility and site development operations on projects throughout the Woodinville and greater Eastside area. This role is responsible for managing crews, subcontractors, schedules, safety, and quality while delivering complex earthwork and utility scopes safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day field operations for earthwork, excavation, and underground utility construction (water, sewer, storm)
  • Manage field crews, foremen, subcontractors, equipment, and materials
  • Coordinate work with project management, engineers, inspectors, and owners
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in compliance with plans and specifications
  • Plan and sequence work, manage production rates, and resolve field issues
  • Enforce company safety policies and jobsite safety standards
  • Maintain daily reports, schedules, and field documentation

Experience Needed

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Foreman on heavy civil / site development projects
  • Strong background in:
    • Mass excavation and grading
    • Wet and dry utilities (water, sewer, storm)
    • Trenching, shoring, and utility tie-ins
    • Site logistics, traffic control, and coordination in active environments
  • Experience working with municipal inspectors, utility owners, and third-party agencies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors simultaneously

Qualifications Required

  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Solid understanding of production tracking, scheduling, and cost awareness
  • OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proficiency with basic construction technology (daily reports, scheduling tools, plan viewing software)
